A traditional dreaming ally used to support lucid dreams, recall, and inner journeying.
Calea ternifolia — also known as Mexican Dream Herb — has a long history of use in Mesoamerican traditions, especially among the Chontal people of Oaxaca, who worked with it for dream divination and psychic insight.
Traditionally smoked or prepared as a tea, it is known to support vivid dreaming, enhanced recall, and deep communication with the subconscious.
This bitter herb is often described as both oneirogenic (dream-enhancing) and cognodysleptic (mind-altering), and has been used in Mexican folk medicine for digestive and respiratory support.
While its full chemistry remains understudied, alkaloids and other active constituents are thought to contribute to its effects.
Suggested use:
2–4g dried herb as a tea or smoke. Best taken in the evening before rest or ritual dreamwork.
Caution: Not suitable during pregnancy or when using sedatives.
