A plant belonging to the Nightshade or Solanaceae family, currently there are over 70 species of this plant recognised, most of which originate from North, Central and South America.
In its traditional context when burned as incense, it is often considered to be powerfully grounding and clearing, and one of the oldest and wisest of the plant teachers used to form communication within the plant world.
